It's been a long time coming but our family is complete. We arrived at the office today (Tuesday Feb 26th-Gotcha day!) at 2:15. Ruthie arrived shortly after and the craziness began. We were prepared to be blubbering idiots but there is so much to do and sign and comprehend in a short period of time that we were pretty much numb. Ruth cried for the first hour but warmed up to us quickly. We left there around 4pm and went shopping at Carrefour (french version of Walmart) for supplies. What a crazy place, imagine the busiest store you have ever been in and multiply that by 13 million (population in Guangzhou give or take). I hope we go back ther again just to look around it was fun, but we were on a mission, diapers, wipes, formula, clothes (to last until Aunt Lisa and Aunt Suzy find out her size). She took to Jessie first (who wouldn't) but let me hold her at the store and I found out she loves to be held up in the air, we heard her first laugh 5 hours later and we have had lots of laughs, she is very funny. She is very active, a quick learner, loves to get into everything. And boy can she eat!! It has been a little tough for Craig to adjust to not being the big cheese but he is very proud of his little sister and tells everyone we run into (which is a lot here) about his little sister. He is ready to show her lots of things (some I'm sure we will wish he didn't) and we think she will be teaching him some things too. When we got back to the hotel the first thing we did was strip some layers of clothing off of her and feed her, she quickly ate a bottle of formula, a jar of pears, some puffs and water, then we headed for the restaurant for dinner. (our first dinner in China- always too tired). There she ate more fruit and some congee. Craig is already snoring and Ruthie is walking all over the place checking everything out. Tomorrow we go back for a little paperwork then off to see some sights here. We will probably go to Shamain Island again as it is a wonderfull place to walk around and shop and talk to all the people. The locals are so nice and helpful and want to hear our story. We met the owner of the China Doll shop and brought our laundry to be cleande (1/10th the price as the hotel) and they will pick it up and drop it off. The craftsmanship is amazing, there are shops that do oil paintings, glass etching, wooden stamps, banners, etc. all with your pictures or they will take one. This 1 women paints your picture on the inside of a small botle, amazing!. Most everything is very reasonable and bargining is easy.
Well for those of you that read this ranmbling thnk you and especially for all the support from our family and friends We Love You all very much and can't wait for you to meet the star of the show.
Enjoy the pictures and look for more everyday.
